Nicole Kyte, MA, RP
Like many therapists, I was drawn to this work because of my own experiences with mental health challenges. There’s a common misconception that therapists are invulnerable to anxiety, depression, or trauma. The truth is that many of us have personal experiences that inspired us to help others navigating similar challenges. Ironically, we’re not so different from the clients we work with.
For me personally, I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression on and off for years. Back in university when my mental health was at its worst, I couldn’t afford therapy, so instead I tried to therapize myself by learning as much psychology as I could in an attempt to ‘fix’ my problems. Since becoming a therapist I learned that therapy isn’t a place you go to get "fixed"—it’s where you go to feel heard, understood, and truly seen.
My Approach
I take a holistic, person-centered approach, focusing on the areas of your life that matter most to you. You’re in the driver’s seat—our sessions move in the direction you need, whether that’s exploring specific challenges, learning practical strategies, or reflecting on patterns in your life. I blend different therapeutic approaches and techniques to meet your unique needs, with collaboration at the heart of every session. Therapy with me is flexible, empowering, and rooted in a non-judgmental space where your voice leads the way.
This is your space to show up as you are—Let’s get messy!
Therapy as Unique as You Are
No two people are exactly alike—we each carry our own mix of backgrounds, life experiences, and social environments that shape how we see ourselves, others, and the world around us.
At Reflecting Room, we believe your therapeutic experience should be as unique as you are, which is why we use a combination of evidence-based approaches thoughtfully selected with your needs in mind. If something doesn’t resonate, that’s more than okay—flexibility is at the root of our approach.
After all, there’s no one else like you, and your therapy should reflect that.

Therapeutic Approaches
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a practical approach that focuses on how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. It helps you recognize and challenge negative or unhelpful thoughts that affect your emotions and actions. By
learning to reframe these thoughts and adopting healthier behaviors, CBT can improve how you manage stress and emotions. This therapy empowers you to develop effective coping strategies and build a more positive outlook on life.
ACT
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you accept your thoughts and feelings rather than trying to avoid or change them. It encourages you identify what truly matters to you in life. By focusing on your core values, ACT helps you commit to actions that align with those values, even in the face of difficult
emotions or challenging circumstances. This therapy empowers you to build psychological flexibility and live a more
meaningful and fulfilling life by taking proactive steps toward what you care about most.
Psychodynamic
Psychodynamic Therapy explores how past experiences and unconscious thoughts influence your current behavior and
emotions. It helps you understand the root causes of your feelings and how unresolved issues from your past might affect your
relationships and self-perception. By gaining insight into these deep-seated patterns, Psychodynamic Therapy supports
personal growth and emotional healing, helping you create more meaningful and fulfilling connections in your life.
Interpersonal
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) focuses on improving your relationships and communication skills to enhance your overall well-being. It helps you understand how your interactions with others affect your mood and provides strategies to address issues
such as relationship conflicts, social isolation, and life changes. By working through these interpersonal challenges, IPT aims to
strengthen your support network and improve your emotional health, leading to a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Solution-Focused
Solution-Focused Therapy is a practical approach that emphasizes finding solutions to current problems rather than focusing on
past issues. It helps you identify your strengths and resources to create actionable steps towards achieving your goals. By setting
clear, attainable objectives and building on what’s already working well, Solution-Focused Therapy empowers you to make
positive changes and enhance your overall well-being efficiently.
Humanistic
Humanistic Therapy is centered on helping you explore and realize your full potential by focusing on your unique strengths and
personal growth. This approach emphasizes understanding yourself in the context of your own values, experiences, and
aspirations. It encourages self-discovery and self-acceptance, aiming to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment
where you feel valued and heard.

Direct Billing
Indirect Billing
Manulife, Desjardins & Canada Life
We are excited to announce that we can now direct bill your sessions to TELUS Health on your behalf.
Depending on your plan, you may still have a co-pay—this is the portion of the session fee your plan doesn’t cover, which you would pay at the time of your appointment.
Coming Soon: Sun Life Direct Billing
We’re also excited to announce that direct billing with Sun Life will be available December 2025.
Please note: Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend checking with your provider to confirm your benefits.
For all other insurance companies, you can still use your benefits through indirect billing.
How it works:
-
Pay for your session at the end of your appointment (via credit card on file or e-transfer).
-
Use the receipt we provide via email to submit your insurance claim through your provider portal.
-
Get reimbursed by your provider based on your individual plan’s coverage.
